Pergola added with seatwalls and columns. Wood is spaced closely for more shade. Patio is now an outdoor room, house stays cooler.
Blank garage wall at the pool is a drag.
Built-in tile bench and trellis added for a place to sit as well as architectural definition.
A dead backyard. Their backs were turned to it.

A stone patio, seatwall, water feature, tree and grass made it a nice place to hang out.
And the chairs face the yard now.

New BBQ, concrete deck, coping, pool tile and plaster. Space is now organized with seatwall and fire pit.

A larger, new paver surface makes for plenty of room, built-in BBQ added with a pizza oven, pergola added to provide shade and it defines the patio as an outdoor room.
Dated, unusable and hurting the property value.
Walls built to level it out, creating usable grass area. Junipers removed, benches added.
